Code of Honor

I ran away at 16 across the tracks I run

Taking all I needed never listen to anyone

I was a child not a man if it’s not my style I ran

Hiding everyday underneath the same code of honor

Crossed the Ohio line making good time

Laid my head to rest behind a five and dime

It’s not that mansion on the hill steered my ship I was ready to sail

I’ll take shelter from the storm underneath that same code of honor

Bridge~

Fly me over the Rio Grande

Let me soar let me land

In a place I’m free to roam

Met a girl in Houston gave me the moon and the stars

I gave her, her freedom she said it’s the thought that counts

And the wind in my face desert rain clear the way

Hiding everyday behind that safe code of honor
